Chairman's Report from the AGM of 15 November 2015

As the current Chairman it was with much pleasure that I can report that our Club continues to go from strength to strength in terms of membership numbers. Performances in the Field, Financially and in contributions to fell running generally as a result our member’s expertise that is so willingly shared, and also to the successful outcome of the Pontesford Hill appeal

On Tuesday 27th November 2012 the National Trust invited organisers of fell races on the Long Mynd to attend a meeting at the Bucks Head in Church Stretton.

Peter Carty and Dave Cowell from the National Trust outlined a serious threat to the Long Mynd from several notifiable diseases. They also wished to discuss erosion issues at several points on the Mynd. The latter being a direct issue following the exceptionally wet period and the recent Relays Championships.

Mercia Hosts the 2012 FRA Relays

The Mercia Fell Runners club are proud to announce that they will be hosting the 24th UKA British Fell and Hill Relay Championship on Sunday 14th October 2012 at Church Stretton starting at 10am.

Revised Constitution

As a condition of accepting the recent grant from Sports England we agreed to ensure that our constitution was consistent with the objectives and principles that they expect of sports clubs that they support. We are therefore obliged to review and amend the Constitution. This has been done initially by Colin Williams and reviewed by Bob Dredge.
