PETE WHITTAKER comes to Shrewsbury on 28th March

High Sports are really proud to be staging this exclusive lecture of Pete’s historic and stunning solo ascent of El Cap. We hope you can come along, if not we’d appreciate it if you could spread the word, all profits go to charity. Don’t miss this chance to meet the lad who put UK climbers firmly back in the Yosemite climbing history book.

Mercia Hill Trial Results

Results for the recent Mercia Hill Trial are available here (short course) and here (long course).
Thanks to all competitors and helpers for another successful Mercia Hill Trial. Everyone came back within the time limit, although a few had issues finding one or two of the controls. I hope you all had fun and managed to practise your navigation skills on a fair but challenging course.
The final results are linked above with midway splits courtesy of Suzanne. The winners are as follows:

Mynd Drover Challenge Walk - Runners

This is a 26 mile challenge event similar to a typical LDWA event (like the SSC). Runners welcome. More information is here. A couple of pictures from last year are here. Proceeds to the Church Stretton School.

Mercia Hill Trial

The joining instructions for this years' Hill Trial are attached. Please ensure you read them carefully - 90% of the questions I get on the day are answered in the instructions no-one reads. They also contain a couple of useful pieces of info which will make your run quicker!!

Entry on the day will be available until I run out of maps. There are currently 11 places left for the long course and about 25 on the short course (as I write on Friday morning).

Cardingmill Valley helpers required

I’m looking for volunteers to help marshal the Cardingmill Canter race on Saturday 4th March. The maximum time slot most would be committing to is from 1pm to 4pm in and around Cardingmill Valley, Church Stretton. A few are needed earlier, from about midday.

If you would like to help please email pd.giz.dave at gmail dot com or text 07850 654 157, indicating your preferred role(s). Sorry to be blunt, but I need definite’s not maybe’s.
